Public Relations Account Manager

Involve is seeking a talented public relations account manager with integrated agency experience to provide strategic insight, execute multifaceted PR initiatives within integrated marketing campaigns, manage client relationships, and track results.

This role requires a rock-solid public relations background, high level of creativity, flair for strategy, in-depth knowledge of current PR tools, and demonstrated media results. Strong writing, account management and exceptional client and media relationship building skills are a must. And, of course, you have to be stellar with media outreach, whether it’s consumer or trade; national, regional or local; print, online, podcast, TV or radio. Plus, if you’re strong in and love event PR, even better!

Primary Responsibilities

  • Developing brand building multifaceted PR and media workplans (both stand alone and integrated) for a diverse set of clients
  • Planning and implementation of day-to-day public relations activities
  • Performing database building, monitoring, social listening and analytics reporting account maintenance
  • Developing media lists, editorial calendars and pitch calendars
  • Generating smart, newsworthy story ideas and pitching media
  • Creating press releases and content pieces and maximizing distribution strategy (proprietary lists, wire releases, mat releases, content sponsorships, influencer campaigns, etc.)
  • Engaging media (at least monthly) to land coverage including the top-tier outlets (both B2B and B2C)
  • Coaching client media interviews and creating media briefings
  • Writing effective, error-free, attention-grabbing content – press releases, media pitches, op-eds, bylined articles and online blogs and posts
  • Leveraging paid, earned, shared and owned media to build client awareness and reach objectives

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in developing campaign strategy
  • Experience creating strategy-based tactics that tie to and deliver on objectives
  • Knowledge of public relations tools (Cision, Agility, etc.)
  • Expertise in successfully navigating the current media landscape
  • Ability to apply PR in the broader context of marketing
  • Track record of building successful content launch plans
  • Skilled at AP style writing and editing
  • Ability to translate each client’s unique brand voice into PR content
  • Ability to manage projects and communicate expectations directly with the client
  • Able to apply critical thinking to solve problems and take ownership of projects
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines along with exceptional time management skills
  • Desire to constantly learn more about public relations
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience at a PR/ marketing agency
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in public relations, marketing, and communications
  • Must work efficiently and independently, be proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized
