Social Media Content Specialist

20 hour per week / 90-day contract position
(with opportunity for growth and Full time)

Do you share and post to social media in your sleep? Do you know what it takes to grow an online community? We’re looking for a Social Media Specialist to create engaging content to increase followers, convert them into leads and ultimately more loyal and active customers. You should have command of best practices and trends in social media marketing, enjoy being creative, and understand how to both build and convert a digital audience.

You have a wide breadth of knowledge and experience in digital marketing and are able to leverage your social media expertise to develop engaging social media content.

The Social Media Content Specialist reports directly to the Director of Digital Strategy.


  • Deliver compelling and well written messaging on behalf of clients in different industries, while meeting deadlines
  • Develop a monthly content strategy that supports overall marketing goals
  • Create and manage monthly editorial calendar
  • Create accurate, clear, and brand-relevant copy suitable for all digital platforms in the form of a monthly editorial calendar
  • Collaborate with design team to create supporting imagery for each social post
  • Perform supplemental research as necessary to round out messages and communicate topics
  • Properly vet and use hashtags in content
  • Proofread copy to check for spelling and grammar errors
  • Drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from social media channels


  • Knowledge of social media platform requirements (character limits, image dimensions, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience creating content for social media
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize several projects to meet deadlines
  • Willingness to help as needed to accomplish team projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ensure correct grammar, spelling, and usage, as well as adhere to client’s style (voice/tone)


  • Minimum of 2 years experience at a digital or advertising agency
  • Degree or background in digital marketing or communications preferred Must work efficiently and independently, be proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized
